UCEED 2023: Application Form (Will Open on 5 Oct), Eligibility Criteria, Exam Date

Admission into B.Des programme offered by IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Guwahati and IIITDM Jabalpur is offered on the basis of entrance exam UCEED 2023. Application form for the exam will release on 5th October 2022. The entrance exam is expected to be conducted in the month of January 2023 by IIT Bombay. Those with a pass in class 12th exam can apply for the exam, if interested. Find the complete details below.

UCEED 2023 Important Highlights

  • Candidates who have passed their qualifying exam in or before the year 2023 cannot apply for UCEED 2023.
  • In case of non-availability of their admit card, the candidates can contact the Chairman JEE (Advanced), UCEED & CEED at IIT Bombay.
  • Candidates opting for Dubai centre should also compulsorily opt for 2 cities of their choice from any of the available Indian cities.
  • The applicants who clear the UCEED will again have to apply for the B.Des programme.
  • Obtaining a rank in UCEED does not guarantee admission to the B.Des programme.

UCEED 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The details of the UCEED 2023 eligibility criteria are provided below:

  • Age limit: The candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1997 (October 1, 1991 for SC/ ST/ PWD category candidates).
  • Number of attempts: A candidate can attempt UCEED for a maximum of two times and that too in consecutive years.
  • Qualifying examination: The candidate should have passed the class 12th or equivalent from any stream. Those who will appear in the exam in the year 2023 are eligible too.

UCEED 2023 Application Form

  • Application for UCEED can be done online through the registration portal linked from www.uceed.iitb.ac.in.
  • Basic personal, academic, contact and other details related to the candidates will be asked in the application form.
  • Soft copies of documents such as photograph, signature, qualifying examination certificate, etc should be uploaded in the form as well.
  • Candidates should also opt for 3 cities of their choice, in the order of preference, at the time of application.
  • Application form complete in all respect can then be submitted along with the prescribed application fee.
  • A printout of the application form after submission should be taken and kept safe in case of future correspondence.

UCEED Syllabus 2023

The syllabus for UCEED 2023 exam is given below as:

Part A:

  • Visualization and spatial ability: Pictorial and diagrammatic questions to test, understanding of transformation and manipulation of 2D shapes and 3D objects, etc
  • Observation and design sensitivity: Ability to detect concealed properties in ordinary things, people, situations, and events, and thinking critically about them, etc
  • Environmental and social awareness: General awareness of environmental factors such as climate, population, water, vegetation, pollution, weather, natural resources, their implications on the design of products, images, infrastructure and environment
  • Analytical and logical reasoning: Ability to look at information, be it qualitative or quantitative in nature, and discern patterns within the information, Ability to check for hidden bias or hidden assumptions and whether evidence and argument support conclusions, etc
  • Language and creativity: Ability to understand and use Standard English, Reading comprehension, knowledge of English grammar. Ability to think creatively in terms of alternatives, ability to distinguish innovative options and think out of the box, etc
  • Design thinking and problem solving: Ability to use visual analogies, metaphors, signs and symbols. Ability to understand complexity, identify problem, generate alternatives, evaluate options and select solutions

Part B:

  • Drawing: Ability to draw products, people or scenes in proportion with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective and shading

UCEED 2023 Admit Card

  • Candidates whose registration is complete in all aspects will be able to download the admit card from the registration portal www.uceed.iitb.ac.in.
  • In case of any discrepancy, the candidates must contact the Chairman JEE (Advanced), UCEED & CEED at IIT Bombay.
  • A printed copy of the downloaded admit card should be produced at the time of examination.
  • The admit card will contain candidates’ name, registration id, roll number, photograph, signature and exam schedule, centre details and important instructions.

UCEED Result 2023

  • UCEED results will be available on the official website and can be checked using the user login and password created during registration process.
  • Qualified students will be able to download their score cards after the declaration of result.
  • Rank list will be prepared based on the total marks obtained by the candidates in Part A and Part B combined.
  • After clearing the entrance exam, the candidates can proceed towards applying for the different participating colleges.

UCEED 2023 FAQs

Does the university send a hard copy of the UCEED score card?

The candidates can download their rank card from the official website from the month of March onwards and take its printout. No hard copy of the UCEED score card will be sent to the qualified candidates by the institute.

Can I get admission in any of the participating institutes?

Depending on your rank, you can opt for admission into any of the participating institute- IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Guwahati and IIITDM Jabalpur. However, for admission to IIT Guwahati, the candidates must have qualified 10+2 exam from Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects.

How can I apply for B.Des programme?

After clearing UCEED 2023, the candidates need to fill a common application form for admissions to the different participating institutes. The common application form will be made available through the IIT Bombay Admissions Portal and needs to be submitted along with an application fee. Order of preference of institutes can be provided in this application.
