RRB NTPC 2023: Application Form, Exam Pattern & Dates

RRB NTPC 2023: Recruitment to different post under Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) in Indian Railways will be done on the basis of computer based test. There shall be two stage of the test followed by skill test and document verification. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the selection test through online mode.   • Date and time of the different stages of the RRB NTPC 2023 recruitment test shall be intimated from time to time through the official websites.
  • Before filling the online application, candidates are advised to read all the instructions given in the brochure carefully.
  • Admit card to appear in the exam will be available online and will not be sent via post/ courier.
  • Typing Skill Test will be held for Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist and Senior Time Keeper.

RRB NTPC 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Provided below are the eligibility criteria for appearing in RRB NTPC 2023:

Nationality:

A candidate must be either a:

  • citizen of India, or
  • subject of Nepal, or
  • subject of Bhutan, or
  • Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India

Age criteria:

  • For 7th CPC Level-2 and 3, the minimum and maximum age of the candidates should be between 18 to 30 years as on 1st July 2023.
  • For 7th CPC Level 4, 5 and 6, the minimum and maximum age of the candidates should be between 18 to 33 years as on 1st July 2023.

Relaxation in upper age will be provided as per the below rules.

Academic qualification:

  • Commercial Apprentice, Station Master, Goods Guard, Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist, Senior Clerk Cum Typist, Senior Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Time Keeper and Traffic Assistant: A graduation degree from a recognized university.
  • Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk, Accounts Clerk Cum Typist, Junior Clerk Cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper and Trains Clerk: 12th or its equivalent with at least 50% marks in aggregate. 50% marks is not insisted upon SC/ ST/ PWBD/ Ex-servicemen and candidates who possess qualifications higher than 12th.

RRB NTPC 2023 Application Form

  1. RRB NTPC 2023 application form will be released in online mode and can be obtained by visiting the official website of RRB.
  2. In the application form, the candidates are required to provide basic information such as name, gender, date of birth, qualifying exam details, etc.
  3. Scanned copies of candidates’ photograph and signature should also be uploaded into the form.
  4. After providing all the details, the candidates must check the application form very carefully.
  5. Duly filled application form can then be submitted along with the prescribed application fee.
  6. Candidates are advised to keep with them a printout of the duly submitted application form in case of future reference.

  • For PWD/ Ex-Servicemen/ SC/ ST/ Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class/ Female/ Transgender: Rs. 250/-
  • For rest candidates: Rs. 500/-

Typing Skill Test (TST):

The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on personal computer only without editing tools and spell check facility.

  • General Awareness: Current Events of National and International Importance, Games and Sports, Art and Culture of India, Indian Literature, Monuments and Places of India, History of India and Freedom Struggle, etc
  • Mathematics: Number System, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio & Proportions, Percentage, Mensuration, Profit and Loss, Elementary Algebra, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, etc
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analogies, Venn Diagrams, Puzzle, Completion of Number and Alphabetical Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Similarities and Differences, Relationships, etc

RRB NTPC 2023 Admit Card

  • The RRB NTPC 2023 admit card will be released online and intimation about the same will be sent on the registered mobile number and email ID.
  • Candidates can download their admit card from the official website using their registration number, date of birth, etc.
  • Details of the exam center and timings will be mentioned on the admit card.
  • The candidates should carry the admit card along with a valid photo identity proof and one color photograph while reporting for the exam.

RRB NTPC 2023 Result

  • Candidates can check the result of the different stages of the computer based test from the RRB’s official website.
  • Those who clear all rounds of the recruitment process will be shortlisted for document verification and typing test (if applicable).
  • Final selection of the candidates will be done after successful verification of their documents and clearance of typing test.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1: Can I apply for more than one RRB?

Answer: No and the candidates who attempt to submit applications for more than one RRB, their all applications will be cancelled without refunding any application fee.

Question 2: Can I provide the option for the post for which I want to be recruited in RRB?

Answer: Yes, you can provide the choice for the preferred post at the time of filling the application form. However make sure that you fulfill the eligibility for the post applying for.

Question 3: Currently I am employed in Railways. Can I still apply for the NTPC exam?

Answer: Candidates serving (including those undergoing induction training/probation) in any Central/State Government Department including Railways or Public Sector Undertakings can apply directly to the RRBs duly informing their Employer. Shortlisted candidates should produce NOC from the employer during document verification, failing which their candidature will be cancelled.

Question 4: What documents can I bring as a valid identity proof?

Answer: Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, printout of e-Aadhaar, Driving License, PAN card, Passport, Identity Card issued by the employer in case the candidate is a Govt. employee, College/ University Photo ID card
