IRMA 2022: Application Form (Available), Eligibility, Exam Date

The Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) will offer the candidates admission into its FPRM and PGDRM courses. No entrance test will be conducted and admission will be given on the basis of CAT/ XAT (for FPRM), personal interview, research proposal and other criteria as applicable. A Social Awareness Test (IRMASAT 2022) will also be held for selection into the PGDRM course along with the interview. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online for the IRMA 2022 admission process as per the specified schedule.

IRMA 2022 Main Highlights

  • The PGDRM is recognized as equivalent to Master’s degree in Rural Management by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). FPRM is a doctoral/ PhD level research programme in Rural Management.
  • PGDRM course offered by IRMA is a two-year fully residential programme.
  • Candidates must make sure of their eligibility criteria before applying for the admissions.
  • Research proposal for admission into FPRM course should consist of the topic of the proposed research, its relevance, objectives & methodology of the study and expected results or findings.
  • 5% seats in PGDRM course will be reserved for the NRI/ NRI sponsored students and 15% for FN/ OCI/ PIO/ CIWG students.

IRMA 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the below-given eligibility criteria

For FPRM course:

  • A postgraduate degree in any discipline or any other equivalent degree/ diploma from a recognized university/ institute is required.
  • A minimum aggregate of 55% marks (50% for reserved category candidates) is also mandatory.
  • Candidates studying in the postgraduate degree course who will clear the final year/ semester exam on or before 1st July 2022 can apply too.
  • A valid score card of last five years of any of the CAT/ XAT, GMAT/ GRE, UGC-JRF/ NET, CSIR-JRF/ NET, ICAR-SRF, ICAR/ ASRB-NET or GATE is also mandatory.
  • The applicants with PGDRM from IRMA and PGP from any of the IIMs (including Agri-Business Management) are exempted from the above qualifying exams and validity period.

For PGDRM course:

  • Those with a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university/ institute are eligible
  • The qualifying exam should be passed with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST/ DAP candidates).
  • A minimum of 15 years of education (10 + 2 + 3) is also compulsory.
  • Candidates studying in the postgraduate degree course who will clear the final year/ semester exam on or before 1st July 2022 can apply too.

IRMA Application Form 2022

IRMA 2022 application form will be made available in online mode on the official website of the institute www.irma.ac.in. Candidates who fulfill the eligibility requirements for the admissions can proceed towards filling the form.

  • Candidates will have to provide their basic personal and academic details such as name, date of birth, gender, qualifying exam marks, etc into the application form.
  • Scanned copies of important documents like photograph, signature, sponsorship certificate, research proposal, etc should also be uploaded into the form.
  • The candidate must take care to enter only genuine and correct details into the application otherwise it will be rejected.
  • Duly filled application form can then be submitted along with the prescribed application fee.
  • A copy of the submitted application form should be kept by the candidates for any future reference.

Application fee:

  • The application process will be complete after submission of application fee as well.
  • Candidates can pay the application fee online using debit card/ credit card/ net banking facilities.
  • Applicants (only Indian) belonging to the BPL category will be exempted from payment of application fee.

IRMA 2022 Admit Card

  • The admit card for appearing in the exam will be released on the official website www.irma.ac.in.
  • The candidates should take a printout of the admit card and carry it to the exam center along with a valid identity proof.
  • Without these documents, no candidate will be allowed to enter into the examination hall.
  • Details of the center and schedule of exam and that of the candidate will be mentioned on the admit card.
  • Candidate must preserve the admit card till the end of the admission as it will also be required during the admission process.

Exam Pattern

The overview of IRMASAT 2022 exam pattern is given below:

  • Mode of exam: Online
  • Duration of exam: 80 minutes
  • Medium of test: English
  • Number of questions: 40
  • Type of question: Objective type
  • Marking Scheme: Each question will carry 1 mark
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer

IRMA Selection Process

For FPRM course

  • The applications will be shortlisted for personal interview on the basis of various parameters like academic qualification, test scores, research proposal, and reservation.
  • Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the interview and give a presentation of the research proposal.
  • Focus will be given on assessing research aptitude, subject knowledge, clarity, analytical abilities, general personality and perseverance of the candidate.
  • A short written test may also be conducted to assess the analytical and communication abilities of the candidates.

For PGDRM course

  • For admissions to PGDRM course, IRMA will give two types of calls to the candidates- profile based calls and non profile based calls.
  • Candidates will be shortlisted for profile based calls on the basis of the following criteria:
    • Graduation: Development, Agriculture, Dairy, Public policy, Sustainability, Veterinary Sciences, Food Technology
    • Work experience: Development Sector, Dairy, Public Policy
    • Excellence: Graduation from top universities and colleges
  • The applicants who score above 80 percentile in CAT/ XAT and fall in the Profile based call criteria will be eligible to appear for IRMASAT and GD/ PI process.
  • The applicants who score above 85 percentile in CAT/ XAT and fall in the Non-Profile based call criteria will be eligible to appear for IRMASAT and GD/ PI process.
