It is important for the aspiring candidates to fulfill the AP PGECET eligibility criteria if they wish to be considered for the admission process. The basic eligibility for the candidates is to clear (or appearing in the final year exam of) their bachelor’s level course in the related field. The candidates belonging to the state of Andhra Pradesh are only eligible to appear in the test. The candidates are suggested to check the eligibility criteria even before they fill their AP PGECET application form. Any candidate who is found ineligible at any stage, their candidature will be cancelled and will forfeit any submitted fees.
AP PGECET Eligibility Criteria

Nationality criteria:
- The candidates of Indian nationality are eligible to apply.
Domicile criteria:
- The candidates should fulfill the local/ non-local status requirement as prescribed by the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.
Qualification requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in the relevant branch of engineering/ technology/ pharmacy earned from an AICTE/ UGC approved institution and recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh or its equivalent is required.
- The candidates should have passed the bachelor’s level exam with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in case of reserved category candidates).
- The candidates who are in the final year of their bachelor’s degree are also eligible for admission given that they complete the prescribed course on or before the date of counselling for admission into the colleges.
