KEAM Eligibility Criteria: Nativity, Education

Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) is a state level entrance exam conducted by Commissioner of Entrance Examination, Kerala for enrollment in various disciplines of Engineering, Architecture, MBBS, BDS etc. The exam will be organized in the month of April 2021. Before moving to the application form filling process, candidates are recommended to check the eligibility criteria and figure out if they fit it or not, since ineligible candidates will not be permitted to appear for the exam. KEAM Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants are advised to carefully check their eligibility as mentioned below –

Nativity: 

  • Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for the exam.
  • PIO/OCI will get admission in limited space.

KEAM exam is held category wise, therefore aspirants must carefully identify their category based on which admissions will be provided to them. The categories are

  1. Keralite
  2. Non-Keralite (Category-I)
  3. Non-Keralite (Category-II).

Keralite: Aspirant will belong to this category if-

  • He/she is of Kerala origin.
  • Whose parents are non-Keralite and are serving as All India Service Officers in Kerala.

 However, these candidates will not have any reservation.

Non-Keralite (Category-I): Aspirant will belong to this category if-

  • Aspirant is pursuing the qualifying course in Kerala. His/her parents are non-Keralite and are posted in Kerala to serve Indian Government/ Defense Service.
  • Aspirant is pursuing the qualifying course in Kerala. His/her parents are non-Keralite and are serving the Government of Kerala for a minimum period of 2 years.
  • Those whose origin is not Kerala but they have been the resident of it for 5 years from their 12 years of study period.
  • Aspirants who are not of Kerala origin but they have completed their study from class 8th to 12th from it.

Non-Keralite (Category-II): The aspirant who does not belong to either to the category of Keralite or Non-Keralite (Category-I) will fall under this category but they will be able to get admission under Government Seats or Management Quota.

Age: Aspirants must be at least 17 years on the 31st December 2022. There will be no upper age limit.

Educational criteria

Aspirants can check the educational eligibility criteria according to their course as stated below –

Course Criteria
MBBS/BDS/BSMS

·         Aspirants who have passed HSC from Kerala, or equivalent exam with 50% marks in Biology/Biotechnology separately

·         And 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology together.

B.Tech

·         Aspirants who have passed HSC with 50% marks in Mathematics separately

·         And 50 % marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together.

·         Aspirants who have passed with 45% aggregate will be eligible for the admission under management quota.

BAMS/BHMS

·         Aspirant who have passed HSC from Kerala, or equivalent exam with 50% marks in Biology separately,

·         And 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology together.

BUMS

·         Aspirant must have passed Intermediate or its equivalent exam with 50% aggregate marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology

·         and 50%marks in Biology separately

·         And aspirant should have cleared class 10th with Urdu /Arabic/ Persian language as a subject or clear the test of Urdu in the Entrance Examination conducted by the University or Board or Registered Society validated by the Government

or

They have cleared pre-Tib examination of one-year .

B.Sc (Hons.) Agri. / BFSc/ B.Sc (Hons.) Forestry

·         Aspirants who have cleared HSC from Kerala with 50% marks in Biology separately,

·         and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology together

B.V.Sc. & AH ·         Aspirants  should have secured at least 50% aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology for the qualifying examination
B.Arch

·         Aspirants who have passed the 12th or equivalent examination from recognized Board with Mathematics and securing 50% marks in aggregate.

·         OR

they have done 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognized by Central/State Governments with 50%aggregate marks with Mathematics as one of the subjects of the examination.

·         OR

They have done International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with minimum 50% aggregate

And

They should have Mathematics as a compulsory subject.

KEAM Exam Pattern

KEAM Exam will be based on MCQs with 5 options for each question and only on the answer will be correct. Students will have to give the answer in OMR sheet. After the exam, they will be allowed to take the question booklet with them. They will be given 4 marks for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deduced for each wrong answer.

The duration of the exam for each paper is 2 Hours 30 Minutes.
